Every parent has their own way to punish their children, but a new study now says that kids who are popped can become more aggressive, and don’t perform as well on thinking tests.

The Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University also says low income families who live in the south and are conservative Christians are more likely to spank their children, especially if they were spanked as a child.

This is nonsense. I grew up in the 60s and 70s. Kids including me were commonly spanked for misbehavior. We were also paddled in school. The kids in my graduating class scored much higher on our ACTs than kids graduating from the same school now that does not permit spanking and whose parents very rarely spank. My friends from school have college degrees and have been successful in life. There are many "studies that spout this garbage but the actual facts and real life results simply do not back the studies.
