The Pell City Police Department isn't saying much about what happened in the Shadydale Mobile Home Park Community on Thursday.

But police have confirmed that a Pell City officer was serving a search warrant at the home of 42 year old Barry Bush when a shot was fired.

Barry Bush's mother Delores Bush says her son was in no condition to resist police in any way.

"If he get up it'll take ten to 15 minutes to get up off the couch, that's how weak he was from the surgery and the diabetes."

Delores Bush says that Barry was recovering from major surgery to remove a staff infection.

Bush adds that the officer was looking for drugs at Barry's home. It's a claim Delopres Bush believes is absurd and it angers Bush that such a claim resulted in her sons death.

"I want justice. I want that (officer) off the force. I want him to pay for what he did to my son."

Captain Ed Brasher says Pell City is taking a wait and see position before taking any action in this case.

"He's on paid administraive leave until the outcome of the investigation with the ABI."
