Bingo Showdown/Shutdown Draws Near

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Some Alabama electronic bingo halls have
until Thursday to shut down.
      The district attorney in the Bessemer Cutoff division has
demanded electronic bingo halls in his area close by Nov. 5. Halls
in the rest of Jefferson County already have been ordered to close
and some did so this weekend.
      A bingo hall in Pinson operated by Shining Light Ministries
removed the last of its electronic bingo machines Saturday.
      Lawyers filed suit Friday in Jefferson County Circuit Court on
behalf of 17 of the Birmingham division halls, seeking a temporary
restraining order and claiming District Attorney Brandon Falls
exceeded his authority when demanded they close.

i think it is a shame. why can;t the people want.walker co. has done nothing but try to help people.but no shut them down. let mcgregor & riley have there victoryland.
