We're learning more about the disappearance of a local businessman tonight.

Letters critical of the Bashinsky family's business practices turned up shortly after Major Bashinsky disappeared last week. The Bashinsky family runs the Golden Flake snacks company.

Golden Enterprises, the Birmingham-based potato chip maker received the anonymous letter on Thursday according to chief executive Mark McCutcheon. The letter was critical of the Bashinsky family for collecting millions of dollars in dividends on Golden Enterprises stock at the expense of Golden Flake workers.

Bashinsky, a 63-year-old lawyer and financial adviser, has been missing since Wednesday. His car was found Sunday near Five Points South.
