AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) - A search for a new cornerbacks coach is starting for the Auburn football team.

On Tuesday, the team announced that Phillip Lolley was stepping away as an on-field coach.  However, Lolley will stay with the program in an administrative capacity.

Lolly has spent the last three seasons as the Tigers' cornerbacks coach.  He has been with the team since 1999.

"We appreciate Coach Lolley and the contributions he has made to the Auburn football program in his various roles over the years," head Coach Gene Chizik said.  "We look forward to him continuing to help with the program's success in his new capacity."

From 1999-2000, Lolly was a conditioning coach at Auburn before serving as secondary coach from 2000-2003.  He was also Director of NFL Relations from 2004-2008.  Lolley returned to the field as a coach in 2009.
