BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Most people who wear eyeglasses know the stereotype that comes with it.
Now, researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay are trying to determine if the stereotypes hold true.
Study participants were shown different pictures of the same models with and without glasses.
They were asked to rate the models on intelligence, trustworthiness, employability, friendliness and attractiveness.
Models who were wearing eyeglasses were perceived as more intelligent and trustworthy.
However, the same models were also pictured without their glasses, and they were perceived as more attractive.
The study showed glasses did not have a significant impact on someone's employability or friendliness.
