“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying the above quotation; I think it makes perfect sense. That said, I am going to start blogging right here on CBS42News.com. It is my hope that what we discuss will not be a foolish endeavor for either of us.

This blog can be about whatever you want to discuss. The point here is to connect in a way that is more like a town hall meeting than me just posting my opinions for the sake of getting them off my chest. I will aim to make my posts worth your while and elicit a response from you that will be worth mine.

I do not want to limit what we discuss, but two issues that are of great interest to me are politics and business. From local politics to the race for the White House I am an avid observer of events that have to do with public office. So, it is my guess we will do our share of talking about political events that are unfolding before us.

As for business, I am a big believer in the American Dream and pursuing specific interests that make our mark in the world. I gain a great deal from hearing great stories of accomplishment and even the lessons learned from great defeat. Teddy Roosevelt has an insightful and popular quote that touches on the value of being “in the arena” and not just sitting on the sidelines. To me doing what you love and doing it with all your might is a valuable pursuit. So, we will be discussing matters of business that I hope will serve the greater good and spark thought and contribution.

The only ground rules are keep it appropriate, this is a family discussion. And show others the respect you want to be shown. Pretty simple, huh?

So with that, let’s get going and have some fun and hopefully learn a little bit along the way. I will blog as often as time and inspiration allow. I welcome you to contribute as often as you wish. I look forward to hearing from you and welcome your ideas on topics that may be worth a town hall hearing.

Talk to you soon and have a great day!
