In a revealing interview with Diane Sawyer, an emotional Rihanna, 21, recalls the abuse she endured while dating singer Chris Brown and why, following that terrifying night before the Grammy Awards, she went back to him.

In her first sit-down interview since her highly publicized domestic dispute with Brown, Rihanna tells Sawyer she was embarrassed that she "fell in love with that person...so unconditional that I went back."

"You start lying to yourself the minute the physical wounds go away," she says on Thursday's "Good Morning America."
