TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) - The one week anniversary of the January 23rd storms has come and gone. And there is still plenty of damage to deal with.
Patrick Owen's home was ripped off of it's foundation during that early morning. Now, he and his wife are just trying to get what they can out of the rubble.
Owen isn't the only one trying to find heirlooms and keepsakes in the debris. Breanna Coker found the top of a jewelry box in what is left of her home. She says it was a gift from her grandmother when she was a little girl.
The question facing many of these people is what to do next. Do they stay or do they go. Some like Owen have made that decision. He's leaving. Owen says after 16 years in the same house, he and his wife couldn't see rebuilding a different home on the same property.
