BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB senior forward Cameron Moore was selected as the Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
This is Moore’s second C-USA Player of the Week honor this season and third of his career (Dec. 6, 2010).
Moore had an outstanding week in leading UAB to a pair of crucial Conference USA victories against Houston and at UTEP. He averaged 18.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game in the two Blazer victories.
On Wednesday against the Cougars, Moore connected on 10-of-19 shots to go for a season-high 25 points along with 13 rebounds and five blocks. He followed that performance with 11 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots in a huge road win at UTEP on Saturday, making the Blazers the only C-USA team to win in El Paso this season.
With two more double-doubles on the week, Moore moved past Lawrence Kinnard into second place on the school’s all-time double-double list (23). Additionally, with his 11 blocks on the week, he moved into third among the program’s all-time shot-blockers with 127 in his career.
UAB’s next game will be on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts C-USA rival Southern Miss at Bartow Arena.
