Birmingham, Ala (WIAT)  It was closer than many games in the twelve game losing streak, but in the end it was just that...another in a twelve game losing streak.

Not even the emotion of honoring the late Gene Bartow, who passed away Thursday, was enough to push the Blazers past Memphis.

The Tigers left Bartow Arena with a 52-59 Conference USA win despite UAB holding a one point lead at halftime and being ahead with less than 7 minutes left in the game.

Mike Davis' UAB team falls to 5-9 overall while opening Conf USA at 0-1.

Cameron Moore led the Blazers with 20 points.  Jordan Swing had 19.
