Many parents are encouraging their children to pick up a soccer ball and play. The sport gives girls a chance to be competitive and be part of a team.
"It’s a whole team feeling; when you win you win as a team. If you lose you lose as a team, but everybody works together it makes a lot of camaraderie and a feeling of being connected with other girls," says Cynthia Shearer a soccer mom.
The game of soccer not only helps with the girls eye hand coordination it also helps keep the girls physically fit.
"It’s nice to have a young woman who is focused on a healthy body versus a skinny body and being strong and fit is the goal," says Rush Neil, a soccer mom.
Playing soccer takes a lot of practice; the experience builds a strong work ethic and character.
"They learn early on they can be whoever they want to be they can do what ever they want to do it builds self confidence," says Neil.
