Madison Mahaffey was a typical high school volleyball player at Vestavia until her Sophomore year, when she matured into a graceful force above the net. So much so, her future now includes chants of U-S-A.
Her energy comes natural, it's nourishment. The energy is the substance that has helped Madison Mahaffey turn in to a promising, international volleyball prospect.
The Vestavia senior will represent Team USA at the Youth Olympic Games this summer in Singapore. Not bad for a kid who picked up volleyball after she got cut from the dance team. Now the sport will provide her college education with a scholarship at LSU, and this trip with Team USA means she's on the international radar, which means a chance at a future Summer Olympics.
None of that would have been possible without her family, both in the Mahaffey home and her volleybal family at Vestavia.
