TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Crimson Tide fell to the 20th-ranked Georgia Lady Bulldogs, 81-66, in women’s basketball action Sunday afternoon at Foster Auditorium. Alabama’s leading scorers were sophomore Shafontaye Myers and junior Meghan Perkins, who had 16 points apiece. Perkins had eight rebounds to lead the Tide, while Robinson and junior Erin Hogue each grabbed five boards. Georgia was led by junior Jasmine James and freshman Krista Donald, who each had 18 points. Donald and James also led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounding, grabbing nine and eight boards, respectively.
With the loss, Alabama falls to 10-14 on the season and 0-10 in Southeastern Conference play. Georgia improves to 18-6 overall and 7-4 against league opponents. Next up, Alabama travels to Oxford to face Mississippi on February 9. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
