Tuscaloosa, AL (WIAT)-The 6th ranked Alabama Gymnastics team will take their part in raising breast cancer awareness when they host 5th ranked Arkansas in their annual Power of Pink meet on Friday night.

Tide Coach Sarah Patterson started this initiative in 2005 and now eight years later, over 100,000 fans have filled the stands at Coleman Coliseum to show their support.

This will be the third year that each Alabama gymnast will be introduced with a breast cancer survivor in an effort to take the spotlight off the team and give it to the women who have battled this disease and given others hope.

The competition begins at 7:30 p.m.
