CLAY, Ala. (WIAT)- "I thought I'd never have to go through that again," says Ann Adams as she stands in front of her home on Marchester Circle. She and her husban James are watching over repairs to their roof after Monday's tornado damaged much of their George Brook community.
"We just prayed as we were in the closet and we knew if something took place we were still safe," says Jim. Ann adds, "When you hear things thumping against your house and glass, that's terrifying."
She would know. This was the couples second devastating tornado is the last nine months. Their last home was in Pleasant Grove, and was destroyed on April 27, 2011.
"I was really, really scared, more so than last time because I knew what could happen, I knew the sounds that I would hear," says Ann. Jim agrees, saying, "It's scary. It's really hard to explain. But it just seems like, it's the same, but it's not the same."
How does ONE couple face TWO monsterous tornadoes, and STILL find the strength to go on? Because they still have their most important possesions. "He's my rock. He's always made me feel secure and that's one of the things I love about him," says Ann choking back tears.
Two tornadoes doesn't equal one strong couple.
