Owner of Alpha Home Builders, Emmit Stallworth, has spent the past year designing energy efficient homes. He says there are three aspects he focuses on during the construction process: energy efficiency, sustainability, and indoor air quality. His initial steps include tightly sealing the house from the light fixtures to the electrical outlets.
Stallworth is extremely proud to have completed his very first certified green home, standing on the notion that the benefits from owning one are countless.
"A house to this magnitude would probably save you between 25 to 30 percent on all of the utilities together," he says.
It's an eco-friendly way of life...one that Stallworth says everyone should digress to.
