Birmingham, AL (WIAT) - It's not too early to start thinking about the less fortunate as we head into the holiday season. This year the CBS42 Youth First Holiday Toy Drive will help more than 800 local families.

The drive kicks off with the Step Extravaganza this Sunday, November 20th, at the Carver Theater from 6-8pm. Please bring a new toy or non-perishable food item to get in the event at no charge. Local groups will provide entertainment the entire family can enjoy.

Then next week through December 12th, you can drop off toys at our sponsor locations: America's First Federal Credit Union, DonohooAuto, or Bruce Office Supply.

"We're expecting a bigger year than we've ever had based on the call volume, so we do need the community to step up," explains Birmingham DYS director Cedric Sparks.
