BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - A former Birmingham First Lady got a big honor Thursday.
The street that runs in front of Arrington Funeral Home off of Cotton Avenue has been renamed, Rachel's Place South West. The road sign honors the accomplishments of the wife of former mayor Richard Arrington. Rachel Arrington was also a long time successful business owner in the city.
Mrs. Arrington also received several proclamations from the city of Birmingham, Jefferson County and the state of Alabama.
