BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - In a little more than a week, Alabama's controversial immigration law is set to go into effect.  This, despite numerous challenges from activists and even the US Justice Department.

With the countdown to September 1st underway, the peaceful fight to keep the anti-immigration measure from being enforced intensifies.

On most school nights, teenagers would be at home doing homework and other things high school students are apt to do, but on Monday night many voiced their opposition on Alabama's immigration bill.

Most of the kids knew the risk of being documented and putting their faces in front of the camera, but it's a risk they were willing to take.
