Our children's education is a top priority and concern for all of us living in Alabama. Many feel powerless to affect the changes needed to ensure a quality education for our children. News coverage is full of the financial problems school districts are facing: Closing schools, increasing class sizes, and lower grade averages. Who is at fault? The teacher? The parent? The government? The truth is, we all share in the responsibility to help find solutions for our children’s education. We at CBS 42 feel that It’s About Time to take a stand and do our part to help teachers get the tools they need.

The cuts have gone so deep that some teachers are going into their own pockets to buy morning snacks. How many of us are digging into our pockets for every child that knocks on our door for yet another fundraiser to buy books for the classroom or take that special field trip? The problems seem so big that they appear insurmountable.

CBS 42 is taking a stand One Class at a Time!
