Susan Young Wins $1,000 Grant!

CBS42 news anchor Ken Lass surprised 4th grade teacher Susan Young with a grant worth $1,000 at a recent assembly at Brent Elementary School.  Miss Young had applied for the grant to help finance the GEMS program.  GEMS is an acronym which stands for Girls Engaged in Math and Science.

Any teacher can apply for a One Class at a Time grant.  Just go to cbs42.com, click on "Features", and follow the One Class link to the application form.  CBS42 awards a grant each week during the school year.  The stories are featured on CBS42 News at Six on Thursday nights.

The co-sponsors for the One Class at a Time project are Pepsi and America's First.
