BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - The school year is winding down and it's been another rewarding and inspiring year for our CBS42 One Class At A Time grant project.

Our One Class At A Time grants were able to supply new music stands for the Erwin High School Choir and at Odenville, our grant helped a teacher who uses the Jeopardy game to teach her students math.

In Ragland, the money will be used to buy a device that simulates car crashes so that students can study action and reaction and in Gadsden, our grant will be used for iPads to help autistic and visually impaired students.

In Oakman, a library destroyed by a tornado will be able to restock with new books and in Fairview, they will be able to buy accelerometers to study physics.

Throughout the year, the reaction of the teachers to our surprise visits has been the most rewarding of all.

CBS42 wants to thank all of our teachers and administrators for staying the course through extremely tough financial times, times that are probably only going to get more challenging next year, but we'll be there, along with our co-sponsors Chick-Fil-A, America's First and Pepsi, doing what we can to assist education in Alabama, one class at a time.
