Hoover, AL (WIAT) - Many retailers are reworking their store hours this year so you won't have to get up so early.

With some stores opening between 9pm Thanksgiving Night and Midnight many people will be able to get the big deal by just staying up a little later.

But the earlier start may result in larger crowds.

Toys will make up some of the deep discounts and door buster specials offered by retailers to capture your holiday dollars this year.

But the toys aren't limited to children. The big boy toys, like electronics, will be a big draw as well.

And the fever that follows these sales can be a little intimidating for those like Kellie Reyner who are new to Black Friday.

"I've never shopped on Black Friday and never worked in retail on Black Friday so it's very exciting! I'm very nervous. I think it's going to be a lot of fun though."

And of course with door buster deals come long lines, people cuing up hours before stores even open and that's why retailers are taking extra precautions to ensure that everyone that comes out to shop can do so safely.

And that means that stores like Target will no longer allow customers to charge in all at once after the doors are opened.

Instead shoppers will be allowed into the store a steady pace.

Rachel Nigh says, "All guests will receive maps when they head in and it'll have a layout of the store and it'll be able to them where to find exactly what they're looking for."

And with large items like TV's at the top of many shoppers lists special precautions are being taken at Best Buy as well.

Jason Benke says there will be organized chaos with customers directed through lanes. And once their purchases are made there will special loading lanes.

"We're going to flow the traffic a certain kind of way to be able to load tv's up... and that will be away from the main stream of traffic so we've taken all those kinds of precautions... obviously the parking lot will be lit up... things among those kinds of things as well."
