BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Repossessing a car can be dangerous
work.
Birmingham police say a 28-year-old Pinson man was gunned down
early Thursday after he attempted to tow a repossessed car on 19th
Court North.
Jefferson County deputy coroner Pat Curry said Jason McClendon
died just after 2 a.m.
Police said McClendon and a co-worker attempted to tow the
vehicle and were confronted by the car owner and his brother.
Police said when McClendon drove away, the unnamed suspect fired
a shot striking McClendon in the head. The gunman turned himself
into police and charges are pending.
The homicide was the Birmingham's 2nd of the year.
