ANDALUSIA, Ala. (AP) — A Covington County employer has announced it is laying off more than 150 people.
Customer call center Sitel made the announcement Wednesday morning. It said affected employees will be let go on Dec. 1.
Sitel had hired more than 200 people in February.
Andalusia mayor Earl Johnson tells WSFA 12 News that the reduction is significant but says he's confident the remainder of the work force will remain stable.
He said management is aggressively seeking new clients to absorb the loss.
