FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WIAT) - The lack is rain across the state is creating problems on many fronts. It's becoming disastrous for the growing of crops. However, it's an even bigger problem for those affected by forest fires. Right now, that means a lot of people in Alabama.

A wildfire in DeKalb County has scorched nearly 400 acres since Monday. The area was in the path of the April tornadoes. Add in the lack of water to forests full of debris, and it's like a lot of bombs just waiting to explode. The only cause being ruled out right now is a natural one...lightning.
