GREENE CO., Ala. (WIAT) - While Democrats lash out at Sen. Scott Beason for those remarks, Republican leadership in the state is defending him.

Bill Armistead, the Chairman of the State GOP says Beason doesn't have "a racist bone in his body".

Democratic Chairman Mark Kennedy is demanding Beason resign.
