Van der Sloot pleads guilty!

Birmingham, Ala (WIAT)  The Flores family in Peru has some closure...Natalee Holloway's family still waits.

Joran van der Sloot stood in a courtroom in Lima, Peru this morning and told a three women judges that he was pleading guilty to killing Stephany Flores.  He had previously confessed to killing the 21 year old student after she found material relating to Holloway on his laptop.

According to the translated live stream, van der Sloot's attorney said that there is an acceptance of the charges, and payment of civil reparations. The attorney said that van der Sloot is deeply regretful of the incident. He asks the court to consider his client's sincere confession and his willingness to work with authorities.

At this point, the 3 panel judges said they were going to suspend the hearing. The prosecuting attorney had one more thing to add- that they must consider Stephany Flores' "right to truth". The prosecuting attorney reminded the panel that Ms. Florez was close to finishing college, implying that her life was worth more because of her schooling. He asked that the judges consider her "life projection".

We should learn the fate of Joran van der Sloot at 10am on Friday (Lima Time). Stay with CBS 42 for more on this story.

I know Beth Twitty want ever know what Van der Sloot did to Natilee. But if he gets life or hang,ed she,ll know that he,ll never harm another woman again.Aruba should be charged for not acting quickly to find Natilee.they gave Joran 10 days to cover up what ever he did.If they had acted quickly maybe Ms Flores would,nt have met Joran.Aruba knows Van dre Sloot go away with murder

hail Mary pass to lighten the prison sentence. Considering that he still hasn't told the truth, I hope the judges don't fall for it. ***** his reason of PTSD doesn't add up. What two people would spend all night playing poker at a casino, then go to a hotel room to play online poker on ONE laptop? They couldn't even both login. That's not the way online poker works. Given Joran has been in the news for years by his own doing, what would he care if Stephany found information about him on the internet? Why would he murder her for that? That's right. He's lying again. ***** More than likely, Joran lured Stephany back to his room by telling her it was the last day to sign up for the LAPT tournament and that he had a laptop they could both register on. As soon as they walked in the door, he attacked her. ****** Since he's still not telling the truth and since that confession was pretty weak, he should get the maximum sentence allowable.
