JEFFERSON COUNTY, ALABAMA- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of the Jet-Pep just after 2PM, Sunday.
The Jet-Pep is located at 1004 Forestdale Blvd.
The victim was found in his car in the back of the lot. The offender had left the scene in a '08 Dodge Magnum.
A BOLO was issued to area agencies and was repeated hourly. A detective and technician were called for to process the scene.
The vehicle had several holes through the driver door and window. Information was obtained that led detectives to believe the offender is Derrick Wayne Murray of Dora in Walker County.
Deputies contacted Dora Police Dept. and advised them. They had units go by that address and located the vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to that location along with a evidence technician and tow truck to take possession of the vehicle.
The suspect has reportedly fled to another area. The investigation is ongoing and deputies are still attempting to locate the suspect.
Derrick Wayne Murray is said to be armed and dangerous.
