TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) - It's opening night for two art exhibits that capture an unexpected glimpse of the April 27th tornadoes.

One gallery gives residents a nostalgic look at life just days before the tornado hit.

"Your Photos of Our Town," is a collection of images taken by people across Tuscaloosa.  Artist Jeannie Guther left 100 disposable cameras in public locations, asking people to take pictures and then send them back to the gallery.  The film was developed just days before April 27th.  The pictures show Tuscaloosa from the eyes of its citizens, before it was drastically changed.

Megan Cutter's art exhibit also opens tonight at the Bama Theater.  Her gallery focuses on images she and her mother created.  One section includes a Corner of Care, for those who survived the tornadoes.

Community members are invited to bring care packages.
