BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - I
t's the first exhibit of its kind, and depicts a trend of romance dating back to the 1800's.The Look of Love displays 98 lover's eye miniatures, which are small scale portraits of individual eyes.
In the late 18th century, these tokens of affection were exchanged between secret lovers who would only recognize one anothers eyes.
An iPad app has been developed so that visitors of the gallery can get a closer look at these tiny portraits.
The exhibit is open until June 10th.
