'Grease' is the word tonight, but American Idol Taylor Hicks is the main attraction!
Tuesday was opening night of Grease at the BJCC Concert Hall. Those in attendance tonight, such as Beckie Martin, say it's Alabama singing sensation Taylor Hicks who brought them to the show.
"We came for Taylor. His dad works in Jasper, and we are all from Jasper. We are just real excited. We came to see him when he was in Birmingham before...we think he's cute!" says Martin.
Hicks, a native of Hoover, is playing the role of Teen Angel in Grease and his local fans, such as Tahiera Brown, say they're really looking forward to his acting debut.
"I adore Taylor Hicks. When my husband got tickets, it was the happiest day of my life. I'm looking forward to seeing Taylor do something besides sing. I'm looking forward to seeing him act," says Brown.
