There is new video in the case of a Jasper area pet named "Boost" that was euthanized before its owner could retrieve it from the Walker County Humane Society. The dog's owner Marcus Campbell is suing the facility and its Director Lane Reno over the incident.
Campbell's attorney Brett Wadsworth says the surveillance video which is now posted on Youtube.com contradicts the statements attributed to Reno which appeared in the Daily Mountain Eagle.
Reno reportedly told the newspaper that the dog would not come out of his carrier and that workers had to use a capture pole at which point the dog became aggressive.
Wadsworth says the video shows that "Boost" had a friendly demeanor and that the dog was led inside on a leash.
"He jumps right down off the truck and walks in and the other video showing inside shows Boost wagging his tail, just happy to be there, not having any idea what was fixing to happen to him," said Attorney Brett Wadsworth.
Wadsworth and his client are seeking unspecified monetary compensation and a change of leadership at the Walker County Humane Society.
Phone calls to the attorneys representing the Walker County Humane Society were not returned.
