SOMERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A solar design and installation companysays it has put in service the largest solar electric system of itskind in the state.

LightWave Solar Electric said it installed the16.5-kilowatt photovoltaic system for Steve and Doris Denton at theirhome just west of Somerville in Fayette County.

The company saidthe Tennessee Valley Authority will contract with the Dentons topurchase their solar-generated electricity. TVA will pay them abouttwice the price that most Tennessee residents pay for theirutility-generated power.

The Dentons will be first in line to usetheir own solar power, and any excess production beyond their usagewill flow out onto the utility lines to be used by their neighbors. TheTVA payment will show up as a credit on their utility bill.
