Patrol Cars Burglarized in Etowah County

Gadsden, AL (WIAT) - Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin tells CBS 42 that law enforcement vehicles were targeted and robbed overnight. Five different patrol vehicles from different agencies, in total. From the hours of midnight to 6:00am, vehicles in the following locations were burgled:

*Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and Sardis City Police Department in Reece City

     *Gadsden Police Department on Noccalula Mountain

     *Gadsden Police Department in Hokes Bluff

     *Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in Southside


Most concerning is what the theives took- guns and a bulletproof vest. Sheriff Entrekin says that AR15 shotguns, "long guns" and the vest were taken from the vehicles. The theives broke windows to get at the weapons.
