Parrish police officers and U.S. Marshals got an early start Thursday morning.

25 year old Parrish Police Chief Nick Smith led the joint effort to put an end to the town's rampant drug operations.

Chief Smith says it takes efforts like this to help the community to move beyond its troubled past.

And that's something that town leaders like Clerk Marcy Brown are excited about.

"We want to be a thriving community, a community you canbe proud to say, I'm from Parrish and they don't tolerate drugs and ourchildren are safe. That's our goal."
