GULF SHORES, Ala. (WIAT) - Today is the one year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill.

Gulf coast residents don't want to forget the day that rocked their world.

CBS42's Kimberly Rankin has been at the Gulf all week and has more on a prayer vigil that is meant to remember the day 11 lives were lost and a region greatly impacted.

The church members will have speeches on the beach and a group prayer.  The event is scheduled to go on until midnight, one of the big things this group is praying for is a huge tourist season this summer.
