Making marijuana legal, this is the goal of one group who was out protesting Saturday.
The Alabama for Compassionate Care held a rally in five points, to gain support for the Michael Phillips compassionate care act. A bill which they hope will pass this year in the state legislature. They want to make marijuana legal for those with certain medical conditions.
"Helps cancer patients be able to eat the HIV and Aids patient the same thing they suffer a lot from waiting syndrome. They are able to keep their meds down," says Loretta Nall, with Alabama for Compassionate Care.
"Medicine they have believe me in the past been high doses of Fentanyl and my quality of life just was gone and with medical marijuana my quality of life was there. I couldn't be her walking today," says Penny Vaughan.
The group Alabama for Compassionate Care asks that anyone who supports their cause, will call their elected officials and ask them to support the bill.
