BIRMINGHAM (WIAT) - Hundreds of Miles College alumni showed up to cheer on the Golden Bears against the Stillman Tigers at this year's Labor Day Golden Classic. "We just started a tradition like the Alabama and Auburn tradition," said Miles College alumni Lucky Shepard.
Shepard, his family, and some of his fraternity brothers, set up their barbecue grill early Sunday in the Legion Field parking lot. Like others, he spent the hours before kick off cooking and socializing.
"We come every year," he said. "I've got to cheer on my alma mater."
Shepard wasn't alone. Dozens of others brought RVs and set up tents, catching up with old friends and classmates.
"It doesn't matter who we play, I'll be here," said Miles College Alumni Datrick Scott.
