It’s been 12 years since Desta Dodson Byrd was shot and killed. Her husband found her lying dead in the front yard, and since then no one has been arrested. Family and friends gathered at Linn Park today to celebrate her life. They want to keep her story alive, and tips coming into the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
“You don’t know who is walking around that could have been responsible for this and they belong behind bars,” says Vonciel Dodson, Desta’s mother.
“She just didn’t have any enemies, she was just big hearted, very outgoing personality, and the only enemy I guess she had was the person that did it, and I don’t know who it is,” says Ronald Dodson, Desta’s Father.
