Peruvian police say they've already started interrogating van der Sloot. He denies the charges, but did acknowledge meeting Flores and going to a casino together. He looked like he was tearing up, as he was paraded in front of reporters and photographers several times.

van der Sloot is also the lone suspect in the case of Natalee Holloway, who disappeared on May 30th, 2005, while celebrating her high school graduation in Aruba. Flores was murdered exactly 5 years to that day.

Van der Sloot was arrested twice for Holloway's murder, but was never charged. Two years ago he was caught on hidden camera saying he asked a friend to dump Holloway’s body in the sea.

At one point, he was charged with trying to extort a quarter of a million dollars from Holloway's family for information about the location of her body and the details on how she died.
