Birmingham, Ala (WIAT)  Joran van der Sloot is making world wide headlines again...and it's hard to top this one from the Dutch website AD.nl: "Joran is addicted to cocaine and making rosaries"

Whether it's various tabloids discovering his American "guardian angel" Mary Hamer..an American M.D. with Alabama roots or the latest legal wrangling on his murder trial scheduled for early January, van der Sloot continues to stir interest on every continent.

The website The Daily Beast has picked up van der Sloot fever following an article in sister publication Newsweek.  Their latest is a tour of the Castro Castro prison where van der Sloot is awaiting trial for the murder of Stephany Flores...the Peruvian student whose corpse was found in his hotel room five years to the day he walked out of an Oranjestad bar with Natalee Holloway.  The Mountain Brook teen was on a graduation to Aruba when she met van der Sloot...and vanished.

There's not much new on the tour of the prison that we didn't already know...Castro Castro has been the scene of eighteen months worth of stories ranging from van der Sloot frolicking with a hit man and other accused murderers, charges he was dealing drugs, a flurry of speculation he had fathered a child with a prison visitor, and even an unauthorized visit by Natalee's mother Beth Holloway with a Dutch camera crew in tow.

What is new in the Daily Beast article is the perspective of Jose Luis Perez Guadalupe who they describe as the government's senior prison official.  The Daily Beast says Perez Guadalupe is more concerned with keeping van der Sloot safe than the various bizarre claims about his prison life:  “So, I have to make sure no one comes near him, not a fellow inmate, nor a penitentiary employee, nor any visitor,” says Perez Guadalupe. “Many things may have happened before I arrived, but I can only be held responsible for what goes on during my administration. I’ve had his cell searched, but I can’t tell you what I’ve removed.”

There have long been rumors that the family of murder victim Stephany Flores has put a bounty on van der Sloot.

What was that you said Boycoyt? That last line of yours? Did you actually write "There is no justice in taking someone else life"... Ignoring the grammer, did you actually mean what you wrote? "There is no excuse for Joran murdering two young women?". Well... it's about time that brain of yours kicked into gear and started pumping out rational thoughts. It's been a long time awaiting hasn't it?

Actually, the original story from the "daily beast" stated "Two anonymous people claimed Joran was addicted to video games and uses cocaine" which Mr Perez Guadalupe wouldn't comment on. But he did say "Joran is crafting rosaries and silver necklaces and silver bracelets in his cell" and he did say that some convicts make crafts to sell at craft fairs to raise money. So I suppose a more accurate headline would be "Buy a rosary. Stone Joran"... think about it.

If there is a bounty on Jorans the Flores need to be put right where he is now!!! I been saying all along that this was a set up,they cant afford to let Joran talk someone will go down for this. If he is in that much danger the Netherlands need to fight to have him serve time in his own Country. There is no justice in taking someone else life
