A Jefferson County circuit judge has ruled the House of Joshua cannot operate electronic bingo machines, even though they received a permit from the city of Birmingham to do so. That's because the city council recently repealed their bingo ordinance, which voided the charity's permit. Now, House of Joshua attorneys are trying to get the city to pay for the charity's financial losses incurred from moving forward with the electronic bingo facility after receiving the permit from the city.
