GUIN, Ala. (WIAT) - Halfway through Marion County High School's football season the mayor vowed to sport a mohawk if they won the state championship. He was reminded of this when Marion County defeated Linden 23-12 to win the division 1A title in Bryant-Denny Stadium last week.

Guin Mayor Phil Segraves stayed true to his word ... the first order of business at the Guin council meeting was a haircut.  Other members of the council are also sporting a mohawk , some real and some not so real.

"There's been a lot of people interested in my hair or the lack of my hair so I hope folks see how serious we were about supporting the Red Raiders" said Segraves as he prepared for his new haircut.

Players say the mohawks have been a symbol of unity leading up to their championship win, and one player says he thinks the Mayor's new haircut "looks pretty good".
