CENTER POINT, Ala. (WIAT) - January 23rd was a horrible day for students and teachers in Center Point. Their school took a direct hit from the early morning tornado that ripped through the area.
After more than a week out of school, they're heading back class Wednesday morning. But it isn't without a little heartache. Kindergarten teacher Danielle Tinker's room was a total loss. She wasn't able to recover anything out of it. Everything she has for her class now was donated. Lexie Butler was a little luckier. Her classroom was a total loss, but she was able to salvage some pictures and few teaching aids.
Parents says their children are ready to get back to class. Even the students too. DeJuan Falconer says he loves his teacher and was ready to come back.
