The Friday after Thanksgiving brings some of the best deals and the biggest crowds of the year. Some shoppers wouldn't miss it, but others hope they can avoid it completely.
"I don't want to get trampled and to me it's not worth it to save you know whatever 20-30%," said Brett Sutton.
If getting caught in a Black Friday blitz is not your idea of a good time there is always Cyber Monday. The Monday after Thanksgiving is a golden opportunity to find deals online.

" Yeah, I know lots of people that are big Cyber Monday shoppers and big participants on Monday at work. It's pretty prevalent," said Andy York.
Experts anticipate a lot of internet traffic on Cyber Monday so the Geek Squad put out some tips to make it a smoother and safer shopping experience.
First they recommend people do their research online the night before, then bookmark the sites where they plan to shop and make their purchases during lunchtime.
Deron Generally of the Geek Squad at the Best Buy on Hwy. 280 in Birmingham says optimizing your computer will also give you a competitive edge when websites lag from heavy traffic and time is of the essence.
"If your computer is updated, running faster, optimized, registry cleaned out, you should definitely be able to load the page faster than you would normally be able to," said Deron Generally.  "You definitely want to make sure that you have updated anti-virus and anti-spyware protection and that you run it regularly including updates."
They also have a sneaky trick for people who plan to shop on company time.
By holding down the Alt key and the Tab key you can quickly switch between open windows.
"Just so if your boss is coming up and he sees, he wants to see what you're working on, you can definitely switch between that spread sheet and that website you were looking at," said Deron Generally.
It might buy you some time, but he says your boss can probably still find out what you've been doing on the company network with help from the IT department.
"A lot of times they wouldn't be your boss if they weren't a little bit smarter or at least they have ways of finding things out," said Deron Generally.
