Thursday mornings storms have caused some damage and flooding has closed some area streets.
The following streets are closed in Tuscaloosa due to flooding:
- 12th Street and 6th Avenue
- 14th Avenue and 13th Street
- 9th Avenue and 10th Street
- 12th Avenue between 6th and 8th Street
Trees are down in Tuscaloosa at:
- Country Club Lane
- Fosters Ferry Road and 16th Street
- University Boulevard East in front of Tuscaloosa Fence in Cottondale.
Trees and power lines have been reported down in Walker, Shelby, Lamar, and Etowah Counties. Some structural damage has been reported in Lamar, Fayette and Shelby Counties. At this time, it does not appear that there have been any injuries.
Meanwhile, interstate traffic is heavy. Several accidents have been reported throughout the Birmingham metro area. Also, another accident has been reported on Interstate 20 at mile marker 170 at the Lincoln/Eastaboga exit near the Talladega Superspeedway.
Authorities are out in force clearing roadways. Take precaution and give yourself extra time through the morning if you're traveling. The storm system should be passed the CBS 42 viewing area by noon Thursday. However, more storms are expected Thursday night and into Friday morning.
