CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) - Cullman's first-ever wet Oktoberfest was such a success last year ... organizers say they need a lot more funding to take it to the next level.

The Oktoberfest board is asking the city for 75-thousand dollars this year, compared to less than 10k the year before.

Board member Ernest Hauk says they want to expand the entertainment to every night of the festival, as well as, a larger beer garden.

He says although the first-year-wet hype has died down, they aren't worried about a drop in attendance.  The board needs to have their budget secured by April.
