There were a lot of smiling faces around Jefferson County on Monday. Two Jefferson County satellite courthouses reopened for business. The locations at Homewood and Center Point were closed since the end of July because of the county's financial troubles. Many are glad to once again have more options to get tags and pay fees.

"I’ve been waiting for a long time, and this wait is a lot shorter than the one at the Jefferson County courthouse," says Stacey Taylor.

Two other satellite courthouses remain closed. About 700 Jefferson County employees returned to work Monday after being on furloughs for months.
